SGPC Declines Harjinder Singh Dhami’s Resignation, Urges Him to Stay On

Amritsar, February 14: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has decided not to accept the resignation of its president, Harjinder Singh Dhami, urging him to reconsider his decision.

In a meeting held by the SGPC’s interim committee, members unanimously agreed that Dhami should continue leading the organization. The committee expressed full support for his leadership and formed a delegation to personally meet Dhami and persuade him not to step down under any external pressure.

Dhami had tendered his resignation recently, though the reasons behind his decision remain unclear. Speculation suggests internal challenges and political pressures may have influenced his move.

A senior SGPC member stated, “Harjinder Singh Dhami has served the SGPC with dedication. His leadership remains crucial, and we strongly urge him to continue guiding the organization.”

The SGPC delegation will soon meet Dhami to discuss the matter further. His final decision is now awaited.
