"Kejriwal’s Place is in Tihar Jail": Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Criticizes AAP Leader

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched a scathing attack on AAP national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, accusing him of corruption and betraying the people of Delhi. CM Saini claimed that Kejriwal’s rightful place is “in Tihar Jail” for his alleged misdeeds.

“Corrupt Kejriwal has tarnished the land where he was born. His place is not in Haryana but in Tihar jail,” Saini posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, along with a video in which he elaborated on his accusations.

Accusations of Corruption

In the video, Saini alleged that Kejriwal has deceived the people of Delhi and has failed to fulfill his promises. “The ‘bhrashtachari’ (corrupt) Arvind Kejriwal has betrayed the people of Delhi. After February 5, he will be sent to Tihar jail,” the Haryana CM asserted.

Addressing a rally in Mundka’s Rani Khera area to support BJP candidate Gajender Drall, Saini further accused Kejriwal of spreading lies about Haryana poisoning Yamuna’s water. He claimed Kejriwal had failed to clean the river during his tenure and was using this issue for political gain.

Allegations of Propaganda

Saini dismissed Kejriwal’s statements about polluted Yamuna water as “propaganda” aimed at shifting blame for his government’s shortcomings. He criticized Kejriwal for tarnishing the reputation of Haryana, his birthplace, and labeled him a habitual liar.

“Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has opened up a shop of lies, which the people of Delhi will lock shut on February 8 by voting him out of power,” Saini said.

Context of the Yamuna Water Dispute

Recently, Kejriwal claimed that the ammonia levels in the Yamuna water flowing into Delhi from Haryana had reduced from 7 ppm to 2 ppm, signifying improvement. However, Saini refuted these claims, accusing Kejriwal of making baseless allegations to further his political agenda.

“When he accused Haryana of poisoning Yamuna, I was concerned. But Kejriwal is a liar who says whatever suits his benefit. He has put a black spot on the soil of Haryana, where he was born,” Saini said, adding, “If he cannot stay true to Haryana, how can he belong to Delhi?”

Election Context

Kejriwal’s comments and Saini’s fiery rebuttal come just days before Delhi’s assembly elections, scheduled for February 5. The results will be announced on February 8.

AAP Faces Election Commission Scrutiny

The controversy follows a notice issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to Arvind Kejriwal, asking him to substantiate his claims regarding Haryana’s alleged role in poisoning the Yamuna. Kejriwal, along with Delhi CM Atishi and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, recently met with the ECI to address these allegations.

As the election approaches, the war of words between AAP and BJP intensifies, setting the stage for a fiercely contested political battle.
